    Makes me wonder what happened to the original owner. Why didn’t he come back for it, if he had hid it between the rocks? Or lost it? Did he die in the war?

    Well we can only speculate that he was sick and took somewhere else or die on the ridge or what I think is that when the our southern boys were coming and he was in the fighting and had to burn down the ridge and he did not have time to get back to getting his purse.
