| Most of these are quite popular these days. Some collectors prefer to proudly display their coins in archival folders, while others prefer airtight capsules, or mylar-lined 2x2's. Whatever you do, do not store yours in the PVC flips you frequently find in the market. These are made from polyvinyl chloride which breaks down in time and destroys the coin it was to protect. If you obtain a coin already in such a sleeve, move it ASAP to something better. You may consider Mylar, but understand that these are hard and may scuff the piece if isn't inserted and taken out carefully. Although they are not air-tight, they're adequate alternatives for medium priced coins that will be "left alone" for many years.
One thing is for sure: regardless of where you choose to store your coins, it'll always a source of permanent enjoyment. |
